The Blood of Olympus

As the Heroes of Olympus finale, The Blood of Olympus focuses on teamwork, sacrifice, identity, and the uneasy work of preventing conflict between divided groups. Riordan offers energetic mythology, broad ensemble dynamics, and a generally hopeful message for middle-grade and young teen readers who have followed the series. The scope and recurring characters provide a celebratory sense of culmination. A mild weakness is that the large cast means some characters receive limited attention, and readers may find the resolution comparatively quick after such an extensive buildup.
