The Throne of Fire

4.0

Reviewed by Anonymous

The second Kane Chronicles novel expands its contemporary Egyptian-mythology adventure with higher stakes, sibling teamwork, humor, and questions about power, responsibility, and trust. Riordan’s fast pacing, alternating perspectives, and modern voice appeal strongly to middle-grade readers who enjoy mythology blended with action. It also encourages curiosity about Egyptian gods and ancient traditions without reading like a textbook. Because it follows an earlier installment and relies on established characters and world-building, newcomers may feel briefly disoriented; the dense action can also leave reflective themes less fully explored.
